The establishment of an interdisciplinary sustainability team underscores the efforts of the KRONE Group to align economic, social, and environmental requirements. As part of the materiality analysis, the following topics have been identified as essential for the sustainability efforts of the KRONE Group: Climate change, environmental pollution, resource utilization and circular economy, own workforce, labor force in the value chain, consumers and end users, corporate policies.
In the fiscal year 2022/2023, a comprehensive carbon footprint (Scope 1-3) was compiled for the KRONE Group for the first time. Through investments in renewable energies and energy efficiency measures, emissions are gradually being reduced. A first step is the cross-site installation of photovoltaic systems, covering approximately 10% of our electricity demand (Scope 2 reduction). Additionally, we introduced our eTrailer, which reduces the diesel consumption of the tractor unit by approximately 40-50% (Scope 3 reduction).
The KRONE Group has always placed great emphasis on fair and safe working conditions. This is ensured through job-related compensation, operational health management, and employee training. In addition, a Supplier Compliance Management System has been implemented along the value chain to ensure environmental and social standards.
The basis of our corporate governance is our Compliance Management System, which the board of the KRONE Group has implemented for damage prevention and risk control. Taking into account specific company factors, the system can ensure that risks of significant breaches of laws and internal rules are detected in a timely manner and that systematic violations are prevented with a high probability.
